Where we start in your situation

We take B2B projects of any size: a small company’s project goes through the same stages, on the same terms, as any other. If you need to sell online, our online store service fits better.

The site gets visitors but few inquiries

We look at your analytics first: it shows where visitors come from and where they leave, so the changes go to the pages that lose inquiries.

The site is out of date

A new look is only part of the fix. First we define what your company must tell visitors and what they should do, then build the structure and design for it.

Your company is rebranding

If you bring the new brand, we carry its logo, colors and guidelines into the design, so the site launches together with the brand. No brand yet? Our team makes the brand identity and the site together.

You need your first website

We propose a structure and scope within your budget and can start small, with a site built to grow without a rebuild. We also set up your domain, hosting and email in your accounts.

What should a B2B website have?

Seven signs a B2B site works

A B2B website works when the people at the companies you sell to understand your offer and get in touch. In our experience, seven things decide it. The first four hold for any business site:

  • visitors quickly see who you are, what you offer, why you and what to do next;
  • the site shows up in search;
  • it loads fast and works on any device;
  • it looks like your brand, not a template.

The last three are where B2B sites differ:

  • in a complex sales cycle, the site speaks to every person who takes part in the purchase, not only to the first visitor;
  • it explains a complex offer in plain words to a non-technical buyer;
  • it delivers each inquiry to your sales team where they work, in the CRM.
What sets a working B2B website apart from other business sites

Why B2B websites fail

Most failures start before the design. A site built without marketing logic looks good but brings no inquiries or search traffic, and it has to be rebuilt after launch. The project starts without clear goals, and content and approvals arrive late.

The structure follows the company’s org chart, not the way the buyer decides. Nobody asks the sales team what buyers ask, and after launch nobody looks at the numbers.

The usual reasons B2B websites fail, and what we start with instead

How we start a B2B project

We start with research into your business: why your offer matters to your clients, who takes part in the decision on the buyer’s side, what each of them needs to see and what doubts come up before they reach out. Your sales team’s answers to buyers’ questions become the content of the pages.

On that basis, we design the structure, the texts and the look, so that everyone involved in the decision quickly sees why to choose your company and gets in touch.

Where the content of your B2B website comes from

What B2B website development includes, and why

Our B2B web design services include all nine parts on every website, each at the level of its type: the cheapest gets a short brief, the SEO base, a configured theme and your own texts.

Research and the brief

The site says what matters to your customers because we learn it from the people who take part in the purchase and from your sales team.

Built for Google and AI search from day one

We plan the structure and the pages for the way your buyers search, before any design starts.

Structure and prototypes

The sitemap and the prototypes give each audience, industry and role its own path to the information it needs and to an inquiry.

The texts of the pages

Your team provides them, or we write them as a separate item. Ours come from your positioning and your sales team’s answers and lead to an inquiry.

A design in your brand’s style

It looks like your brand, not a template, and we check it for conversion before the build: the headline, the proof, the call to action and the mobile layout.

Development on a CMS your team can edit

We build the site from ready-made blocks, with an admin and a catalog, a dealer locator or a portal if you need one, so your team updates it itself.

Forms connected to email or your CRM

Quote and call requests go straight to your sales team, by email or into the CRM.

Testing before launch

A QA check before launch makes sure the site works on every device and the forms work.

Launch, team training and support

We set up analytics for inquiries and their sources and train your team, so you are not left alone after launch.

Built for how your marketing and sales teams work

Can marketing edit it without IT?

Yes. On many B2B sites, a new case study, a corrected service description or a page for next month’s trade show turns into a ticket for a developer or IT, and the campaign waits for its page. We build your site so that the team doesn’t wait.

The site gets a clear admin where your marketing team changes texts, pages, case studies, industry pages and job openings themselves. Every page is made of ready blocks in your company’s style, so a new one goes up without breaking the design.

Right after launch, we teach your team in a live session: editing texts, building pages from blocks, publishing case studies and news. You keep the recording and a written guide, and for the first 30 days we answer your team’s questions.

Your team updates the site from launch day.

Your marketing team updating the site without waiting for IT

Do inquiries reach your sales team?

Yes, and we check it before launch. An inquiry that lands in an inbox nobody watches gets answered late or not at all, so the forms send it to where your sales team works.
We connect the site to the systems you use, or send inquiries to email if you have no CRM. These are examples, not a limit:

  • CRM: HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Zoho
  • marketing automation: HubSpot Marketing Hub, Marketo, ActiveCampaign
  • email and analytics: Mailchimp, dotdigital, GA4, Google Tag Manager
  • automation and booking: Zapier, Make, Google Calendar, Calendly
  • job openings: HR systems
  • chat and AI assistants on the site: Intercom, ChatGPT

Before launch, we send a test inquiry from the form and follow it to your email or CRM and your sales team. You see the first inquiry arrive before a buyer sends one.

Which B2B website platform is best?

The one that fits your tasks, and the choice is yours.

Each platform suits some tasks, so we build on WordPress, Webflow, Next.js and headless setups, Framer, HubSpot CMS, Drupal, Wix and Squarespace, or a custom back end such as Laravel or Node. If the one you name doesn’t fit, we tell you why; if you have none in mind, we advise one before the start.

Trouble starts when a site outgrows its platform. An old CMS, a builder that can’t do what the business needs or a homegrown system only one developer knows leaves marketing waiting for IT.

In that case, we compare platforms for your tasks and migrate the site to a widely used platform your team can run. Support for it is easy to find. We carry the content over and keep the page addresses wherever possible, to keep your search traffic.

You depend on no single person, F5 Studio included.

A site moved to a widely used platform, with its page addresses kept

Will buyers find you in Google and AI search?

They can when the site is built for it from the start. SEO and GEO/AEO, the preparation of your pages for answers in ChatGPT and other AI search, are a standard part of every B2B website we build: the structure, the content of the pages and the technical setup.

We don’t promise positions in search or mentions in AI answers because those also depend on your competitors and on what you publish after launch.

Will a redesign cost you your rankings?

It shouldn’t, and we take steps to prevent it. Before a redesign or a migration, we record your important pages and the search traffic they bring. Their addresses stay wherever possible, since restoring lost positions is expensive and slow; redirects are set only where you decide to change an address.

The content, internal links, canonical tags, the sitemap and indexing are checked too, and after launch we watch for errors and changes in traffic. To promise that positions won’t move at all would be dishonest.

How to build a B2B website, step by step

01.

Week one: your manager, the materials and the brief

We start within a week of the signed contract and the first payment: 50% of the price, or the advance for the first stage, as you choose.

One manager leads your project from start to finish. They agree with you on how to stay in touch, collect the materials and access the work needs, open a shared brief and show the next steps.

The dates of the stages below are set in the project plan agreed with the scope. The whole project takes 3–4 weeks, 6–10 weeks or 2–4 months, depending on the type, and you regularly see where the work stands and which questions need your decision.

02.

Research: your buyers and your sales team

We study your offer, its value to your clients, your services and how your team works. We find out:

  • who your clients are, how they choose and what doubts they have before they reach out;
  • who takes part in the decision on the buyer’s side, and what each of them needs to see;
  • what buyers ask your sales team, and how it answers.

The result is a brief with the site’s goals, your clients, your services, the functions you need and the agreed scope, and you check that we understood your business.
The brief also fixes what will count as the site’s success, such as inquiries from the forms, and GA4 tracks it after launch.

03.

Search: a plan for Google and AI search

At the start, we analyze how your clients search for services or products like yours in Google and in AI search and, for an existing site, which pages already bring visitors.
We show you a plan of the search pages and the requirements for the structure and content, plus a plan for the important old pages if the site is moving.

You approve the priorities before the design starts, and before launch we check that they were built in.

04.

Structure: a path for every role in the decision

We design a clear path for the visitor: from who you are to the right service, the proof, such as case studies and reviews, and the inquiry form.

Each audience, industry and role in the decision gets its own path, with pages for services or products, industries and case studies, and the proof stands where doubt arises.

You review the sitemap, the visitor’s paths and prototypes of the main pages, and you approve the structure before the design starts.

05.

Design: the key pages in your style

The main pages are designed in your brand’s style, either custom in Figma or on a configured theme, depending on budget and tasks. With a theme, we set it up with your logo, colors, fonts, photos and texts.

You approve the mockups of the main pages in Figma, or the configured theme, before development begins.

06.

Development: the admin, the forms and the CRM

On the platform you chose, we build the site with an admin and the blocks your team will assemble pages from. We add the catalog, dealer locator or portal if they are in the project.

We set up the quote and call forms and the agreed connections to your CRM, marketing automation, email and analytics, so every inquiry reaches your sales team.

On a test version of the site, you view the pages and check that the agreed functions and integrations work the way your team needs.

07.

Content: the texts and images in place

The agreed pages get their texts and images, or we migrate the content from the old site if that is in the project; the migration is estimated separately. The texts are written by us or by your team, as agreed in the scope.

Before anything is published, you check the texts, the facts about the company and its services, the contacts and the images.

08.

Testing by a QA specialist

A QA specialist, not the developer who built the site, tests it on different devices and browsers, compares it with the mockups, checks the forms and integrations, and sends a test inquiry from the form to your email or CRM.

You see the test report and confirm that inquiries arrive where and how your team needs them.

09.

Launch: the site and everything to run it

At launch, we put the site on your hosting and check that it works. We set up analytics so you see inquiries and their sources, train your team and support the site after launch.

Along with the link to the live site, you get everything needed to run it, at no extra charge: the files and the database, all access, the source files of the images, Google Analytics and Search Console, and a written guide for your team.

How much do B2B website development services cost?

Project type
What it's for
Start from
Basic B2B website

For a configured theme with a simple design, forms to email or a CRM and the SEO and GEO/AEO base, without complex functionality. Takes 3–4 weeks.

$1,500+
Hours of work
Custom B2B website

For a custom design, more pages, pages for industries and case studies, and a CRM and marketing automation to connect. Takes 6–10 weeks.

$4,000+
Hours of work
Complex B2B website

For a catalog, a dealer locator or a portal, several languages or audiences, or a large site to migrate with its search traffic. Takes 2–4 months.

$8,000+
Hours of work

What a site really costs is the first thing we answer: the price is based on the hours your written scope needs, at our hourly rates from $20, and you see it before you sign.

Each price is the cheapest option of its type. Integrations beyond the forms cost extra, as does content migration below Complex.Each price is the cheapest option of its type. Integrations beyond the forms cost extra, as does content migration below Complex.

What is in the price, and what changes it

How much web design agencies charge depends on the scope they take on. Our price covers everything we agree in writing and changes only if that scope changes. The price and the time depend on:

  • the number and complexity of the pages;
  • a custom design or a theme;
  • integrations and the migration from the old site;
  • several languages;
  • the texts: who writes them and whether they are ready;
  • functionality such as accounts, calculators or AI;
  • a catalog or a portal;
  • the CRM connection;
  • the number of audiences and industries the site serves;
  • the speed of your answers and approvals, which affects the time.

What is estimated separately

Whatever the type, its starting price doesn’t include integrations beyond the forms, a logo and brand identity, or accessibility (WCAG), and below Complex it doesn’t include moving the content from the old site. The types above say which projects they fit; these items are estimated on top.

Advertising and promotion after launch are agreed separately too. You pay for hosting, the domain and paid plugins directly to their providers, not to us.

Fixed price or time and materials

Usually the project runs on a fixed price for the agreed scope. When the scope will keep changing, time and materials fits better. Our rates run from $20 to $50 an hour by role and seniority, and the estimate shows the hours of each role.

A written scope that shows what the price includes and what costs extra

What can you hold us to?

If an earlier vendor took half a year instead of two months, sent extra invoices or still holds access to your site, these are our terms.

The price is named before we start

Work outside the agreed scope is estimated in writing and starts only after your approval. The price of the original scope stays as agreed.

The agreed schedule holds

We deliver on schedule if you answer within 2 working days and send the materials on time. If answers take longer, the dates move and the price stays.

One manager and regular updates

One project manager leads to launch and shows progress regularly. We answer within a business day; with several approvers, we work in your tracker and chat.

Each stage is revised until you approve it

A design you don’t approve is revised until you do. Changes to an accepted stage that come later are separate work, estimated first.

Payment by stage or 50/50

You choose: pay for each stage before it starts, or 50% at the start and 50% at handover.

The contract before you decide

You see our contract template before you decide. The contract with the agreed scope and price is signed before work starts, and we sign an NDA if you ask.

The site is yours

Hosting, the domain and any cloud platform sit in your own accounts from day one. The site, its code and its design become yours with the final payment.

If the project stops

Once the finished stages are paid, you get the work so far, from the brief and prototypes to the code and texts, in files another team can continue from.

Free support for 30 days after launch

Every project gets it at no charge. After that, support is billed by the hour at our rates, or under a monthly care plan estimated separately.

Is web design still worth it for a B2B company?

Weigh it against one client

Yes, when you weigh the cost against what one client brings. For a B2B company, one inquiry from the right company can be worth more than the whole budget of the site.

Your buyers judge the company by its site before the first conversation, and a site works for years. So its price is weighed against what it gives: inquiries, trust and less manual work for your team, such as explaining the offer from scratch on every call.

With us, you see what you pay for in a written scope, and the price of that scope doesn’t grow.

We don’t promise a number of inquiries or a payback date. The site brings inquiries and helps qualify them; your sales team closes the deal.

One inquiry from the right company, which can outweigh the cost of a B2B website

Would a builder, AI or a freelancer do?

Sometimes they will. The table shows when each option is enough and where it falls short for a B2B site.

OptionWhen it is enoughWhere it falls short for a B2B site
A builder, a template or AIA simple site of a few pages with no integrations, when you have time to build it yourself; or a site that only confirms you exist to buyers who already know youWhen the site has to explain your offer to several roles, collect inquiries into a CRM and be found for the services you sell
A freelancerA small, clearly defined taskA B2B site needs design, development, SEO and testing as one system, under one contract, with someone who answers for the whole project even when a person falls ill or leaves
Your own developerA site that changes every dayBuilding a site takes several roles at once for several weeks

With us, you pay for the work done for you: the research, the structure and texts, SEO and GEO/AEO, the integrations and the training of your team.

They stayed within budget, and their team delivered on time.

Comparing agencies? Look at the written scope and price, the reviews and who will lead your project.

F5 Studio is smaller than the big agencies, 20+ people against hundreds. Still, one team does everything, with one manager and prices at our hourly rates. Weigh US agencies that specialize in B2B on the same four points; our rate starts at $20 an hour.

More questions about B2B websites

What is a B2B website, and which kinds do you build?

A B2B website is the site of a company that sells to other companies. It presents the offer to the people who decide on the buyer’s side and collects their inquiries. Our main focus is the company website of a B2B company. As part of a B2B site, we also build:

  • a product catalog with filters, specifications and a price request instead of a cart;
  • a dealer or distributor locator;
  • a partner or customer portal with a login;
  • a dashboard that shows data.

When a portal grows into a full web application, that is a service of its own. B2B wholesale stores with company accounts and price lists we build too; they belong to our online store service.

Will the design be custom or a theme?

Either one; we choose with you depending on your budget and tasks. A custom design is made in Figma for your project; a theme comes with its design built in, and we set it up in your style.

A custom design includes one concept, revised until you approve it. Additional concepts are estimated separately.

If you already have a design in Figma or a similar tool, we build from it. First we check the mockups, including the mobile versions, the states and the blocks for the admin, and tell you what needs finishing.

Do you write the texts, or do we?

Either you or we write them, as we agree. What we write is part of the written scope and price, agreed before the project starts. For a B2B site, we write from your positioning and from interviews with your sales team and your customers.

Our texts are also SEO-optimized: the searches a page targets appear in its headings and text, every page has its own meta title and description, and buyers’ questions get short, clear answers that AI assistants can understand and quote. The pages also link to each other.

Where do the images come from?

When we provide them, the images come from premium stock or from AI generation, and you pay nothing extra for them. Custom illustrations and icons drawn for your brand are a separate item in the scope, with their own estimate.

How fast and secure will the site be, and is it accessible?

It will be fast and protected, and accessible if you order it. Every B2B website we build, on a theme too, is responsive and optimized for Core Web Vitals. At the QA stage, we check it against our benchmark of 95–100 points in Google PageSpeed before analytics and pixels are installed.

For security, the site gets HTTPS and checked components, forms protected against spam and attacks, roles in the admin and two-factor login. Updates, backups and monitoring come with the monthly care plan after launch.

Accessibility (WCAG: screen readers, contrast, keyboard navigation) is done on request and estimated separately.

How many hours will our team spend on the project?

About 10–20 hours in all, as an example from practice; every project differs: answering the brief, reviewing the structure and design, checking the texts and the test version, and taking part in the training.

The project takes more of your time if:

  • you write the texts;
  • several people approve;
  • your sales team gives interviews;
  • a catalog needs product data and specifications;
  • the CRM needs access and the rules for who receives inquiries.

You bring your logo and brand style if they exist; information or texts about the company and its services or products; photos of the team, the office and the work; and access to the old site, the domain, the hosting, the analytics and the CRM.

Have you built B2B websites, and what can we check?

Yes. One of them is for Aldens Holding Ltd, a Latvian producer of aluminum windows, doors and facades that sells to businesses.

A team of two to five people built its new company website, corrected the existing logo and did the SEO. Customers find information about the company and its products there, and, as the client’s Clutch review says, everything was done on time.

What you can check yourself: the live sites in our portfolio and our reviews on Clutch and Google. On launch day, you see an inquiry arrive in your email or CRM, the analytics record it, and the pages pass Core Web Vitals and get indexed.

What do clients do with the site after launch?

In the first months, our clients are glad to share the site’s link with partners, clients and investors. Marketing publishes case studies, industry pages and news on its own, the sales team gets the inquiries in the CRM with their source, and advertising and SEO start on a ready base.

After the free support period, you can move to a monthly care plan: updates of the CMS and plugins, backups and monitoring, small changes within a package of hours, and a review of the analytics with advice.

Its price is estimated separately. To raise the share of visitors who send an inquiry, see our conversion optimization service.

What do clients ask about AI?

How will buyers find us in ChatGPT and AI search? Through GEO/AEO, described above.
Can the site use AI? Yes: a chatbot that answers buyers’ typical questions or automated handling of inquiries, scoped to your project and estimated separately.

Will AI make the site cheaper? For a simple site, an AI builder may be enough, as the comparison above shows. We use AI in our own work too, but AI doesn’t know your business or what sets you apart; our research does.

Tell us about your B2B website

The first conversation and the written estimate are free. You get the scope, the team and the price in writing, to compare with other quotes, and, if you have a site, a short review of it: what it explains, where inquiries get lost and what to keep.
